After finishing up the horse paddock, we picked up hazelnuts, which we were helped with by April, a 13 year old girl who lives in Dovedale who sometimes comes round to ride on the horse, and later on we were joined by Alesha, David's workmate Dougal's daughter. Once we had finished our four hours work, the drinking of the vodka watermelon could commence! Heather mixed the rest of our Boysenberry cider into it, and then made several variations of it in the bowl -using apple vodka, adding Malibu, etc. As well as April, her dad and step mum (who moaned to me and Alice about having a stepdaughter who automatically hates you), and Alesha, her brother and Dougal, we were also joined by Heather's grandson Riley and his dad James (James isn't Heather's son, he's just the guy that Heather's daughter Alesha had Riley with). We had a really nice barbeque involving tasty ribs, homemade paua patties (much nicer than from the Gibson fish and chip shop), snapper (caught by April's dad), and beef sausages.
Another thing we had been talking about in the week was playing Bull Rush (or bulldog if your English) with the farm animals, so Braden (Dougal's son) forced us into playing that after tea (obviously minus the animals) but it was actually really fun, although I wasn't very good at catching people.
