After checking in and getting through security, I went to find something to eat and found... shrimp and grits! Even though I didn't think the grits weren't that nice the other day, I had that, and it came with a biscuit (scone).
Landing in Charlotte was really painful as I have a cold, and so my ears didn't equalize properly. The woman on the next flight told me to get better once we'd landed, but was met by someone with a wheelchair for her!
We got the bus to Miami Beach, and after we'd checked in, I had a little lie down whilst Alice had a shower. We went to Publix- a new supermarket- which the Portuguese guy in our room said was loads cheaper than Whole Foods, although we didn't really notice too much, but that could be because we spent a lot as we were bulk buying for the next couple of days as this is the longest stay in one place we'll be having. I had veggie corn dogs for dinner, and was pleasantly surprised- they were like hot dogs but instead of bread, it was corn bread. I doubt they'll have veggie versions at the New York Yankees game I got us tickets for, but I'd like them to, as I have this idea in my head that that's what you do at baseball games. I also tried my Skippy peanut butter (it wasn't particularly any different from any other peanut butters I've tried, but there's a track on a Blink 182 album about it).
We were debating going out but because of my cold decided it would be a better idea not to, so we wandered around on the hunt for a Ben and jerry's shop, without success. We walked along Ocean Drive, and got chatting to a man who was stood outside one of the restaurants. He was here to perform music, and was from New York, and so he told us a bit about Brooklyn. He has scared us that apparently you have to dress up in heels here, even to hip hop clubs. He showed us the beach, but because I didn't have a jumper, we had to leave as I was a bit cold, and so went to bed.
