In the Amazon rainforest living in a tree house with the Shaur tribe! Seriously amazing experience -we have been treking deep into the jungle wielding machetes to go path clearing and build shelters at gorgeous lookout points! The Shaur are really friendly and im getting lots of chances to pactice my Español as well as drink chicha-a drink made from the chewed up root yuca which is then spit out and left to ferment!
The bugs are massive and seem to enjoy my hair-i got jumped by a sticky leaf bug today which was creepy and we are definitely living with a rat...
Camped out overnight in the jungle with a waterfall as a shower and cooked over an open fire which was great! The stars are gorgeous here as there is no pollution and when it rains it pours! There is nothing quite like watching the mist rise over the jungle after it has rained - such a gorgeous sight!
Have helped teach some of the little niños here who are adorable and so affectionate! In Baños - a nearby town at the moment for the weekend to enjoy a good drink with the other voluunteers and to go to the hot springs to relax my muscles which are aching from machete wielding!
Ciao ciao! xxx
