Alright people!
I have to make this quick since I'm heading off for a trek up a volcano in a few minutes but I wanted to let you know how the rest of Mykonos went (I'm actually in santorini now!!)
We took a day trip to Delos, which is something I've wanted to do since I was around 8 or 9 after reading about it in a book. What I had pictured in my head was pretty awesome. What was actually on Delos just can't be described. It blew my imagination right out of the water!!
I was expecting a couple of ruins here and there but there were over 100 different sites!! The whole place was COVERED!!!
After that, we spent a ton of time going around Mykonos town and rented an ATV. The following day, we took the ATV to the other side of the island and hit up a beach. I thought the water felt pretty nice but Adam thought it was a little too cold and stuck it on the sand. I took a lot of pleasure in having a guy take my drink orders and made sure I got fruity little drinks with umbrellas in them :)
Our final night, we went and watched the sunset over at the windmills again (as soon as I have a chance, I'll try and load some pictures to give you all an idea of just how cool this place was). We grabbed some food and then figured that it was too early to head in but didn't want to go to a club (Mykonos is the most gay-friendly town on this earth and as such, most of the bars catered to that particular clientele. They had to offer me free drinks as incentive to go inside-- no, I never did. With a 40 euro cover charge, it hardly seemed worth it!!!!). Instead, we got a couple of drinks from the local market and went and sat on the cliffside and just hung out for a bit and listened to the water. The town is amazing so time can fly by with you just looking around.
Anyways, the next morning we hopped on our ferry, said goodbye to our friend, George, and headed off to Santorini.
So far, my reportings are this:
Fira- bleh
Firastefani- okay (this is where we're staying)
Oia- totally lives up to the hype and more
sunsets: brilliant
toilets: apparently in "Greece" (i.e.- Santorini), you do not flush your toilet paper but rather put it in a waste bin next to the toilet... so, totally NOT a fan.
I'll update you all later on the volcano and hot springs trek! Hope you all are having a good week!

mom mason Love reading about your adventures. Sounds like you are having fun - take care!
Shannon Sounds like you're having a blast, even if you do have to put the toilet paper in the trash can (bet it smells great in there). I can't wait to see pictures!! Miss you, Love you :)
Joan I. Biddle Jocelyn! Your description of Delos sounds so much like my reaction when I first went to Crete (long time ago) and saw the Palace of Minos! I'd read about it when I was 8, 9, or so, along with the Odyssey, and for my whole life, wanted to see some of those places that i'd read about. I'm glad you're getting to see the thing you've been thinking about. Enjoy every minute--take lots of pictures! Joan
