Sorry it took so long to write this up. I finally got the Internet working on my iTouch for free so why spend the money in a shop???
Anyways, we got in after a horrific flight that involved an on-again, off-again screaming child. I was exhausted since anyone who's flown with me knows that I can't sleep on planes. We got in 20 minutes early and with my trusty map, found our hostel pretty quickly. We were a block away from Grand Place so that was pretty cool. and as anyone who has been to Brussels knows, the #1 pasttime is to sit outside and drink beer. So that's what we did. We also saw Mannekin Pis and for the first time I saw him with an outfit!! They were debuting for an exhibition the city was doing for Madagascar.
Aside from that, there was massive consumption of Belgian waffles.
Our last night also debuted another new experience: there was some sort of celebration in Grand Place with several different marching bands and color guard teams. I think the best part of the evening was when they performed a piece to the musical stylings of the lovely Ms. Tina Turner.
Stay tuned for my reportings on Amsterdam!!!
