We got up, rocking less than three hours of sleep, in order to be in Ventura by 7 a.m. The day just kept improving, especially when we arrived at the docks to see all these hardened, veteran campers with their many "waterproof" bags. We felt slightly out of place with our brown paper bag and cotton tea jackets. We arrived on Santa Cruz Island to a downpour. Soaked through, we decide to tough it out. e had a great time listening to stories of nature from our guide Tony. We also did some intense kayaking for approximately 5 miles and some technical maneuvering through caves. We enjoyed seeing seals, sea lions, and humpbacks whales. After the trip, we rushed in doors in order to attempt de-mudding. We then sloughed through a bog in order to get back to the ferry. That night, we headed to Katsuya for some amazing sushi. Straightaway, we cuddled into our amazing beds, where I did my all-too-typical routine of nap before bed. However, I slept through numerous rounds of the alarm clock. Andrea begged and pleaded, crying by the eighth snooze, wondering what she did to deserve this.
