With Chris (chief blog typer uper) gne and without looking at the last entry which means going out of here and starting again, we are not too sure where we got up to but as far as i can remember it was just before we went diving.
We got to Cairnes on Sunday 1st May and the heavens opened.. in fact i dont think they bothered closing til the day that we left. We checked into a campsite for the last time as Betsy (the camper) had to be back and in pristine condition the next day. The problem was, the poor girl had been battered into a garage by me (Dean), side slammed into the side of a building by Freer, glasses, plates, mugs, cups and even mirrors smashed and the waste pipe ripped off by the Hinton-Preedy combination. The morning of the day after was spent tying to get the lil treacle fixed. We manage to bodge her up enough that the appollo dude didnt notice any how.
The next stage of our trip was based around ProDive.. this is where we went back to school for 2 days learning how to dive and 3 days, 2 nights living aboard a boat doing a total of 9 dives.. the 2 days in the classroom went by and we all passed the tests towards our PADI course. We headed out on the boat.. 4 dives, bout 40 sharks, 10 turtles, 4 popped ears, 1 bloody nose (Preedy) and some other huge looking fish that i dont know the name of but jon knows, later we were all qualified PADI divers. Yippee! On the 2nd night we had to (or chose to) do a night dive...this had to be the most amazing dive anyone can do..the sight of sharks circling the boat as you jump in the middle of them is a little scary. Once we had done our 1st 4 dives and we had pasted our course we were left to do our own thing..and let me put it this way, navigating under water is not quite as easy as navigating round the street of Bromsgrove.. we got lost on a few occasions. ha!
2 days after we got back from the dive trip Chris went to Trailfinders and sorted his flight home. He said to us before we ent on the trip that he was struggling to fund the trip and more and didnt want to get himself in to too much debt..i can understand that as we had Vegas still to go. He booked up and left Monday 9th. It was strange after travelling with someone for almost 3 months and then suddenly them not being there.
Well, Freer will be glad to here he didnt really miss much in Cairns after he went apart from rain.. oh actually Isabel and Lina (some more Swedish girls) we treated them to a night out to the movies and a night in the woolshed. Nice girls! Oh and... a meeting up with the Legendary Sophia. She text us to say she had got to Cairns so we met up with her and went out and got a lil tipsy the night before e were flying to Hawaii.
So, we got to the airport as the sun started shining... would you believe it. We checked in and our flight was called. We were told there was a slight problem with the fuel line on the plane..good to here..and it would be ready in about half hour. We sat on the runway for 3 hours..3 hours before getting of the plane and then getting back on and eventually taking off.
So here we are on Waikiki beach planning on travelling to the north shore of the island tomorrow and heading over to the big island to see some erupting volcanoes Monday.
Hope all is well at home... Freer, have you had you hair cut??????
