Finally we have found somewhere that lets us plug the laptop in so I can down load all the photos for the past few weeks without having to install the photo program on each internet café computer!!! YYYIIIPPPPEEEEE. There are lots of photos of animals in the national parks so I haven’t written captions for them all as I’m sure you can recognise elephants and giraffes. But I have added something for the photos that are a bit different!!! We are currently staying at Jolly boys, which is a hostel in Livingstone near Vic falls. We had to find a room as the car was going back into the shop where a nice man called Nick has found us a replacement second hand fuel tank! We have met some more nice people, a couple called Jim a Sheri who hail from America but have been on the road travelling around Africa since 2006. They covered the north west coast in the rainy season and spent 13 days digging themselves out of a mud road to travel only 32km! They have a very high brow website which we had actually already seen in our research days! They have a Toyota land cruiser so J.P and Jim have been in a friendly fight about whose car is better!!! To be fair the Toyota has had more go wrong so far! But they have travelled further, so I shouldn’t count chickens just yet!
The falls are amazing, the view from the top is spectacular there are all these rainbows where the water is reflecting off. and the spray coming off hits you like rain only it comes from all different directions. it is really funny to see the posh tourists wandering around with the unbrellas up and wondering why they are still getting wet. we walked all around today including going down into the boiling pot which is the pool at the bottom where all the water collects before it runs down the rest of the river. You just climbed down lots of very big boulders until you reach the water (no mean feat in flipflops!) But i had to climb it again for the rafting which was great fun even if i did manage to fall in in the first rapid! Whhooppsss! oh well it was a great day, despite all the crocs watching us from the rocks! and then this morning (22nd) I went over the falls in a microlite! another fantastic trip you can see all of the gorge and falls really clearly plus I saw elephant hippo and crocadiles in the river and buffalo on the bank!
