Ciao!
Monday morning we set of from Bologna towards Assisi but stopped for panini with the local meat and cheese in Citta di Castello. In the afternoon we arrived in Assisi and went directly on a hike up the hill to Eremo delle carceri, a hermitage where s.Francis lived. For dinner we had umbrian truffles in an amazing pasta dish. Buonissimo! The second day we went to explore Assisi with the many churches, s.Francis basilica being one of the high points. We also went out from the main city center to Suore svedesi di santa Brigida, the monastery I lived in 7 years ago for my confirmation (not sure about the English translation). For breakfast the next day we tried the local bread called torta di testo which was nothing really special but still nice to have tried. Because the weather was not on our side we took a tour with the car in the beautiful umbrian landscape. We stopped in some different small towns: Spello, Bevagna and Sellano which is like the emptiest town I've ever seen, it was almost spookie. We drove up and down on the small roads in the mountain just enjoing the view. In the evening we went to a restaurant in Assisi suggested by Pietros dad. It didn't look much at first but it turned out to be really good! Grazie Federico! Today we left Assisi in pouring rain heading towards Deruta and the ceramics that it is so famous for. We basically spent all-day looking at ceramics in different shops but since all shops in Italy close after lunch until around 4 oclock, we went to Perugia, the capital of Umbria. we tried ice cream with canabis flavour (no drugs) and walked around the city. We found amazing views over umbria. Now we are back in Deruta in the strangest hotel so far.

Mams I loved Perugia when I stayed there many years ago. I specially remember a sallad with mushrooms, parmesan and truffle oil. So good!
