Driving down through Lombardia, crossing the Po river and entering Emilia Romagna let you see a big difference in the landscape. From industries to open fields with brick houses. Really beautiful! We came to Parma around noon and found after searching a little while a nice trattoria. As starter we shared a plate of amazing parmesan cheese in big chunks. After lunch since everything was closed we basically just walked back to the car and continued towards Bologna. Bologna is this semi-big city with many churches and old buildings. The university area is quite big but not very vibrant on a Sunday. We walked around, stopped for gelato and walked a little bit more. The city really comes alive in the evening so by the time we had finished dinner the streets were packed with people. Tomorrow we continue to Assisi where we will probably stay for a few days.
