Today was a very very long day. We got up at 6am to make it to our 7am class on time... we couldn't find the building right away, and had to ask two different people for directions. Historia Social Contemporanea was our first class and it was with third year psych majors. It went pretty well and I understood the majority of what was going on. Then we had a two hour break before Reflexion Teologica. There were 50 students in the class, all 16 or 17 years old. In a class where we are supposed to reflect on big life ideas and morals, it was hard for them to stay serious. I did get to practice speaking in that class though, and the kids in my group were very nice and welcoming. Afterwards we had lunch and a three hour break before our final class of the day. Historia de Nicaragua, was at 4 and it was horrible. We are in a section with engineering students, so mostly boys, and very immature one's at that. The teacher could barely keep them under control, and everyone was talking throughout the class. Also, they thought our attempts to participate and understand what was going on were absolutely hysterical... as if we couldn't understand that they were making fun of us. It ended after two hours and we walked out with our heads spinning. I'm hoping that in the future, tuesdays will not be so bad, afterall I might start understanding more, but its still and 11 hour day.
Tomorrow we are back to our spanish class for 7 hours. Its a welcome rest from the stress of today. I am excited about my classes, I just hope that our classmates come around. Although, I'm not sure how 16 year olds are supposed to act at the college level... they're just too young. Ok well my brain is fried and I need to relax. Hasta Manana!
