Kya Travels
When we woke up today we chilled out for a while and drank some tea then decided to go for a walk to find some late lunch. We walked up the street to a little cafe called Kitchen Club and after trying to work out the menu for a while the lady brought us one in English! Score! I got a delicious meal of celery pattie type things crumbed in sesame seeds and served with burghul and lentils and a chili sauce. Yummy! When we were finished we walked home and as we were about to reach the door, Pancho pulled up next to us! So we jumped in the car and went for a drive. We went to the other side of town to a big music shop as Pancho had to pick up a few things for his guitarist, Christian, who lives in a different town. After that we drove down to ikea so Pancho could buy some new glasses. Apparently the other week he'd had a party and everyone took their drinks with them and left them on the street when they went to a club! So now they had no glasses in their house! After this we headed home and hung out for a while with Caro before heading out all together to get some beers. We stopped at a kiosk and grabbed some beer, and one for Nina, then slowly made our way down the street. As we walked and finished our beers we stopped at the next kiosk for another round! Stuff a pub crawl, we're on a kiosk crawl! And it's great as its totally legal to drink on the streets here! Go Germany! On Nina's street, we met up with her and we got some more beer as she joined us in our walk. After a while we came to a little bar where we went in for our next round. We ended up staying there for a few more rounds instead of continuing to the kiosks! They had a football game on, but no one was really excited about it, but we made our own fun to ether and had a great fun night. Darren got talking to some guys who turned out to be Arish (nazi), which was a bit strange. Apparently they said we were cool cos we're from Australia, but they were like 'what's with that guy?' about Pancho, because his ancestry is Chilean, even though he was brought up in Germany! I just don't understand racism. It's so freaking ugly. After a while, we left the bar and headed back home, via Nina's to drop her home. We were looking for some dönner kebabs on the way, but none were open, so when we got home Caro cooked up some hash browns for us. After a while we realized Darren had disappeared, which was weird as he didn't say anything, but we assumed he went to find some food, so we ate all the hash browns! I made up Lars' bed with fresh sheets as he'd said we could stay in his bed for a few days, then when Darren got back, we went to bed.
