Hey there people:D:D
I just came back from an awesome day at the Gold Coast at Surfers Paradise
I'll tell you all about it in a bit, but first some other updates;)
It has been a hard working week, where the work pile just increases:S i however had a great week anyway:) i had my first tutorials this week which was good:) we get to talk more about the stuff in the tutorilas, i mean it is a better way to learn:)
This Thursday we had a NorSK Pub Crawl with 400 participants! it was awesome, met a lot of international students and more norwegians, had a great time:) this friday i finally took advantage of the fact that our school is almost in a botanic garden so i went across the street in the botanic garden and read curriculum there, i painfully discovered what fire ants are they are not very nice, and when they bite it burns like hell for a few minutes! but im good, well actually i got some flu or cold at the moment but i got a lot better today:) But besides that i had a great few hours in the botanic gardens very nice setting for some reading:), after the reading we went a little group to see Public enemies at a huge cinema screen, very good movie:) kinda long, but good, and very cheap 6 dollars(30 kroner)
Today i spent all day at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast:D:D we went there this morning(me+a friend of my roomate+Vibeke and Anders) around 8.27 am the train went, and to get there was like 4 dollars(20 kroner) (1 hour on train+40 min bus), so its very cheap to travel:)
When we got there we went up to the tallest apaprtment complex in the world(according to the outside poster there), thats also where this picture is taken from. there you get an amazing view over the goald coast and the pacific:) it is very nice:) there is an observation deck and you can walk around 360 degrees. i will publish pictures tommorow, seeing there is a slow internet connection here(we have used all our GB this month(weird system)), but took many:)
Then we went down to the surfers paradise and the beach:) it was an awesome beach:) the whitest sand i have ever seen and very salt water. My roomates friend took a surfing lesson, which i will do next time(maybe next week)
Me and Anders went swimming with awesome waves. they are really big, and very hard in a way, but surfing looked awesome(can't wait to try) and it was fun swimming with the waves. Vibeke was reading at the Beach. The water was kinda cold to begin with, but as fast as i had been under it was okay, but i don't think its 20 degrees even if the travel books say so:S but anyway we went back to the beach and relaxed there until aproximately 5.30.
then we went to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner:), i just love the fahitas there:)
We finished the day with some shopping, i got an awesome hard rock cafe t-shirt and a quicksilver more nice shirt+ i bought an australian towel with the australian flag on it, just to show that im a tourist:P
so tommorow i have to go back to my reading day:( but maybe we will go next weekend to, and now we are planning our spring break, which are leaning towards Japan, which i kinda hope we will go to, because it sounds awesome, apparently its also cheap to fly there from here:)
so until next time, have a great time wherever you are:)
