Ok so i am a little embarresed todays activities were limited!
We arrived off the overnight bus from San Pedro De atacama today at about 6am, and unlike in Bolivia and Peru, at 6 here, it is dark :o( i didnt want to get off the bus, but we did, and the two grils we met in san pedro also got off. We shared a taxi to our hostel aji verde in La serena, i was a little reluctant to get in the taxi as the driver had given up trying to get my bag to fit IN the boot, and had taken the tying the lid down over it option. Not entirely safe i thought, but i couldnt argue, my spanish would not stretch that far! We (including my bag) arrived unscathed and to our sheer luck there was also room in dorms for all four of us. They let us go straight in and we went straight to bed! I woke up about tennish i think, and figured i better get up and have the breakfast other wise my body clock would be out for a while! The breakfast was good actually, bread and jam, as always, but this bread woulñd have even satisfied the tastes of my english mum! it was good, and free, so I ate three! With the plan that it would see me though untill dinner and be far cheaper!
After brekkie i had the longest lovliest shower underneath yet another midget high shower head, im starting to feel as though you need some kind of high level gymnastic certificate in order to successfully bend yourself backward to get your head under these things!....Practice makes perfect!
I forgot to mention the highlight of this shower was that there was two in one panten shampoo and palmolive showrgel, both luxuries my current toilet bag does not offer (thanks to lush´s highly practicle, yet not so conditioning shampoo soap bar!).
So once freshened up we had, had the intention to have a wander around the town, this didnt happen, sooz and I have had so much sightseeing and busy travelling that we just wanted to slob out! I spent the day reading my book in the sunny court yard while sunning myself, while sooz updated her blog. We then went food shopping, this is the most british place we have been so far, well i think what i mean is developed! The supermarket was varied and we managed to get a load of nice food for the next few days for the mere price of 9,200.00 mil paesos, bargain!lol
We got back and cooked the best pasta and sauce we have hadall the time weve been in south america! It was delish! - I just realised that we talk alot about food these days, somehow travelling becomes this wierd process of thinking and talking alot about food and toilet habits, not very attractive, but true!
We drank a bottle of rose chilean wine over a few games of cards with some of the hostel inhabitants! Only to establish at the end of the game that sooz had left 4cards in the pack still, the ones i was collecting!ooooff!lol quite funny, we were all playing so hard too!
Bed at about 11ish, by now my half a bottle of wine had taken its toll, i was slurring my words and strangley quite tipsy from it, good news folks im now an even cheaper night out, drunk off 1.25! Bargain! When I get back i will seriously begrudge spending more than a 5er on getting drunk me thinks! A very good nights sleep indeed!
