Ecuador 2006
Yesterday we went out to Dinner with Carlos, the doctor I met at ABEI last year. We talked about future volunteering opportunities at ABEI in Quito and about how we can get donations to them from the USA and what they need.
Today we visited Carlos at ABEI. Some of the children that I worked with last year are still there. We met with one of the administrators at the clinic and got her contact info. to set up volunteering opportunities at ABEI. We also donated money for 20 therapy treatments for the children who cannot afford this.
I hope that people from Peninsula College visit here in the future and volunteer. It is a good way to experience life in a developing country and they need so much help. I look forward to making this into an easy opportunity by setting up some of the logistical issues while I'm here.
Tomorrow we head to Ambato to stay with Celiano, my friend Esthela's brother. They are letting us stay in their apartment and it will be so nice to see them again!
I hope you are all well!
