kristy's travels
6.30 start again!
We left Denham and headed down to monkey mia to experience the famous dolphins! They appear at 7.30 every morning looking for food..............which we give to them! so although they are wild they are a little bit trained, if you can call it that. It was brilliant though!..............They just swim around poking there heads out of the water and give you a little look! Tiff has about 100 photos so i will try and get some on the net for you!
Anyway.................i thought this was all awesome until three bloody huge Pelicans came flying past and water skied down onto the sea right next to us! I have never seen one before and i can't believe how massive they are! The dolphins were now a distant memory as i attempted to get near the pelicans for a photo without getting attacked! I swear they were only a little bit smaller than me!!!
after dragging ourselves away from the beach we headed to the local aquarium where i got to stroke a sea snake!!!!
We also did an aboriginal tour..................I now know how to track a kangaroo! I can actually do it you know! And if i was ever stuck in the desert i could follow these tracks to water! so this is a very educational year out im having after all! We ate a few berries off the trees but im not sure if i would recognise them again............we also learnt how to introduce ourselves to the land! so if you ever spot me talking to a pile of mud.............i haven't gone crazy!
Well there had been so many early starts i decided to relax by the pool for the afternoon. That was until i spotted a really brown girl walking along. I was just thinking 'damn her i wanna be brown' when............................OOHHH MY GAAAD, ITS ME OLD PAL LAURA!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAARRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH ( in your best nothern accents people!!!)
Well it made my day to see Laura again after all this time..............and I finally got to meet the famous Pete (her boyfriend who she met in Newquay of all places!)!!!!
It was such a surprise as i thought she was still up the coast with Janine! Anyway, this called for a party.............and it was a great party at that!!!!
As you can see from the pics we crammed a load of people from the hostel on a minibus and headed out to the bush for a BBQ!. I dont think there was a single australian there but amongst the group we had 2 northerners, 1 guy from liverpool and a few south london lads! The accents were going crazy combined with this crazy noise everyone was doing! Apparently its from the lobster in Futerama.................I didnt have a clue but someone walking through the bush that night may have thought aliens had landed!!!
After the BBQ we walked a few mins to a natural hot water spring where they had put in a sort of shower head! As you can see from the pictures it was pretty amazing and that water was boiling!!!! I was loving it!!! We must of been in there for at least an hour but it is one of the best nights i have had in ages!!!! Tiff has loads of photos so i will get them on here asap!
