I have been told to change the blog title to something along the lines of "things Kyle ate". That is what I do here in Slovakia. Eat tons and drink. It really is a tough life...really.
So I will start this blog with my favorite segment....things I ate :)
breakfast: fried eggs and ham with some peppers on the side and a tomato
Lunch: home made delicious crepes with nutella, homemade cream cheese with raisins, homemade jam, and fruits. Very tastey!
Dinner: red and green pepper, random types of cheese, and some grilled cheese sandwiches with awesome cheese and salami inside.
Oh and before dinner this afternoon at Mario and Barborka's some cake
Also some chocolate filled with marzipan that Vlado got for me yesterday
Today was a lighter day on the food side of things believe it or not.
Things I dont understand:
How everyone here is skinny. We never stop eating delicious food and I have yet to see an over weight person
Things I've learned:
How to say im full!
How to say something is tasty-though I still can't pronounce it properly
Some numbers and how to say how old I am
A bunch of other random words I can listen for along with names to create my own ideas of the conversations going on in Slovak
The day: we woke up this morning and walked with Babi and Sashka to Slavin which is a monument to the fallen soldiers who "rescued" Slovakia from the Germans. Unfortunately it was a foggy and cold day because Slavin is ontop of a huge hill and you can see a great view of Bratislava. We. Could still see a fair bit but not as nice as on a clear day. During the walk Babi was teaching me how to count in Slovak and say how old I am.
Once we got back to Vlčkova we warmed up with a shot of brandy with Babi and had lunch
After lunch Niki had an hour massage from Janetta who does all sorts of massage and reflexology and reiki.
While she was having her massage I had an espresso with Juraj-Vilo's brother (pronouced Euro. I probably spelt it differently earlier) and visited down stairs in his office then went for a drive. He showed me the three flats he rents out so I got to see some of the different suburbs of Bratislava. We drove across a new bridge that was built completely on land and then pulled into place by big boats.
Once we arrived back at Vlčkova we went with Petra,Janetta, and Carly to Mario and Barborka's to see their new place and visit the new baby Natalka. We saw some pictures from their trip to Thailand a few years ago.
We left there and came here to Rača, ate and made tea and are about to set out clothes and figure out where our hotel is tomorrow because we are off to see Prague!

Hana I get a kick out of your blogs, keep them coming, bud... How is my foodie, taking all this calorie intake??
Michelle haha sorry to be a downer on this post but yes, "the why is everyone here so thin" question has always perplexed and bothered me too. From what I understand it's from a lack of long standing fast food culture (whether that mean restaurants or pre packaged instant food), and according to my uncle "a more evolved sense of self image"... doubt the latter is much healthier because I think it causes a lot of women to just not to eat!
