We began our journey with a car trip down to Kent. Our very good friends Sean and Kate live in Hawkinge, which is a mere 10 minutes from the tunnel terminal. They were kind and generous enough for us to stay with them. We were very lucky to not experience any traffic on the way down to Kent and the overnight stop really allowed us to rest easy. We tried out our new camping bed ready for Wednesday, it was strange but quite comfortable and much more practical than an air bed. We had a nice meal at the pub over the road from Sean and Kates. Good food, good company. The trip to the terminal this morning was very stress free we only queued for 25 mins and we only delayed by 20 mins. The train was very surreal but exciting it only takes 30 mins and your in France, I would definitely recommend. On arriving in France you come straight off the train onto the motorways, no passport control, fab!!! A smooth traffic free drive to the beautiful town of Saint Quentin. It has a beautiful Art Deco town centre and a gorgeous basilica. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and walk along the river, napped in the afternoon and then a beautiful evening chatting the night away in a restaurant. Tomorrow is time for wild camping and hopefully spot of swimming. Love Natalie and Robert, this is Mr and Mrs Kohut signing off xxxxx

Steven R Kohut Bet you found it difficult to be in St Quentin without thinking of Rotherham! x x
