Sunday, had a walk Roy d the town to get our bearings. A lovely alpine town with plenty of bats and eateries. Lots of cycling shops for us to buy supplies for the jug ascent on Monday, red hot day. Monday, cycled into bourg collected Batty's e-bike and off we went. 21 switchback corners climbing steeply out of the valley to the ski resort of Alp d'huez. Amazing climb, great views. Had a couple of drinks in the resort then climbed a further 4km to the a picturesque glacier lake. Had a paddle then bombed the descent, much easier than going up. Highlights-friendly camping neighbours (the Dutch, Irish Paul and Dexter the dog). Batty coaching me up the mountain then switching to turbo mode and leaving me to eat her dust.
