Kuala Lumpur
Flight in to Kuala Lumpur was good, went quickly. Very cool airport and everything was very organised. No hassling when we landed which was excellent!
Got a bus in to the city which took about an hour and then had to navigate the public transport system to our station for the guesthouse - which all went pretty smoothly - had a UK dude attach himself to us so that he didn't get lost :-)
Guesthouse is in the Golden Triangle, not too far from everything and the Patronas Towers. Room was so small that we struggled to fit ourselves and the bags in it! Aso had no window...so André went and organised a room with a window. Turns out it is a nice large room with loads of space...so we moved in the next day.
Spent our first day going to the towers, which was amazing. Checked out the Islamic Arts Museum, China town (excellent) and the central market.
In the eve we met up with Pratick - who we met in Hoian - for a bevvie or two (at the very English Pub, "the Green Man" - before heading out for some street food for dinner.
We tried the Frog Porridge.....not sure why people say it tastes like chicken - cause it so doesn't. André enjoyed the legs, not the whole frog which landed in the bowel....Sam preferred her Lemon Chicken Rice :-). Finished the night off with a Shisha pipe from the lebanese dude's little spot which we found the night before.
Second day in KL, slept well in our nice big room (which we have just foudn out is going to cost a hell of a lot more - oh well...) - André busy sorting out our next stop in Cameron Highlands and then Taman Nagara National Park.
Off exploring the town again today, after we refule on toast, tea and fruit!
Will update again soon.
