Little Kirsty Ventures to Pastures New
Sunday
Jungle Trek
Got breakfast, then realised we had completely run out of money in our account- panick! We had to cope with the small amount we had, and set out on our next trip. We were picked up and first taken to the hot springs- and yes, they were indeed hot! Boiling in fact! There were several small pools, teered beside a river. Was really relaxing to be having a bath in the middle of a rainforrest, with a huge river infront of us. Twas a bit overcrowded though.
Next we set out to the 'Emerald Lagoon", and again, yes it was emerald! It was also in the middle of the jungle and it took a short trek along a path to get there. The water was a suprising emerald colour, and the base of the pool consisted of squishy muddy moss stuff. There were little trickly waterfalls running into it and it was nice too.
We were then taken to the Buddhist Tiger temple and saw some cool shrines inside some caves. We passed a female Monk, who tied orange plaited bracelets to our wrists and wished us luck. There were loads of monkeys running about and one of them got hold of a bag of Durian- nasty nasty nasty. It was munching away and the stench was unreal.
I began to feel ill as we stopped for lunch (not because of the Durian), so when we got back to the hotel, I tried to call home to suss out if I needed a Doctor.
My lovely man treked out to the nearby town to get us take away pizza and we hired the DVD player again and tried to relax.
