Had a change of plan for my day off, Abbie phoned me late on Sunday night and asked if i wanted to go to Philly, i would be working the Monday morning then shopping in the afternoon and then off to the city centre on Tuesday. So i thought i can go to the beach anytime so off i toddled! Stopped for lunch on the way, our waitress was this big american lady with a big cheesy grin in her face, asked where i was from and what i was doing then said "that is fantastic. well welcome to america and have a nice day now won't you" How textbook is that. Dropped Samantha at her grandmothers then went to the mall and spent a bloody fortune. Eventually phoned Abbie when i couldn't carry anymore at 7-30pm! Bought lots and lots for those rascals of mine back home, been hearing that they are getting cheeky, you just wait till aunty Kirsty gets back boyos! Had a nice chilled out evening watching Friends in the basement. Got dropped at the train station to travel into town and i was meeting up with another nanny who i met last time Rochelle. She took me to a place called South Street and showed me about a bit, it was like our high street full of locals and didnt at all feel touristy which was good to get the right impression of Philly. It was great to stroll along a different area instead of camp. In the middle of this street there was this big space which was abviously missing a building and a guy had done this amazing mosaic which took him 3 years to complete and there was like wee tunnels in it aswell, really was stunning took some photos. Apparantly not so long ago the local authority wanted to build in the space but so many people petitioned against them that they decided against it. Went out for dinner that night with Abbies mum, dad and grandmother then headed back home. It was 100of during the day here so on the way back we hit some major thunderstorms. It was like the film twister if you have ever seen that with trees flying everywhere...........very scary........we were 20mins away from another turning as well...........proper bricking it! Hear you guys have been having amazing weather to........excellent!!! Just my luck isn't it, been here 5 weeks and still as white as i came, suppose better than burnt definately recommend that P20 stuff. Just spoke to my mum which was great to hear her and she has written a letter but just not posted it! Typical! Keep in touch! Love Kirsty x
