Was really looking forward to Brisbane. Was hoping to meet up with my email pal Chad, but i thought he had died or been abducted by aliens as he never replied to any of my emails!!! Anyway he has since but thats a different story.

So arrived in Brisbane 5th Jan, it's only about 2 hours from Surfers, so thank god it wasn't a long bus journey.

I stayed at Palace Backpackers which is right in the centre of the city. Stayed in room 101 which was right on the balcony looking over the street corners. Was a clean hostel and very big.

Met my room mate Mia, crazy girl!! Ended up going out with her that night. Went to the bar which is connected to the hostel, it was ladies night so had a couple of free drinks. The guy Mia was seeing at the time was working at a bar in town so we ended up there for the rest of the night. When we got there we had even more free drinks. So you can imagine the state we got ourselves into & yes we had tequila. Apparently i fell out of bed i was told but i can't remember anything.

So my first full day in Brisbane was in bed nursing a hangover. I know, i know its bad. But i did manage to go get myself a big mac :)) That cured me no worries.

Right my second day i was up & about. Walked around the city for awhile. Took a strole around the Botanic Gardens which was lovely & they over looked the river too. Walked over the bridge to the lagoon, that was there little beach area, not bad, was a nice place to chill. That day i also went to the Art Gallery. They had a Andy Warhole exhibition showing, cost $20 but was so worth it. He was an amazing artist. Then took myself to the museum. I did alot of cultural things :)

The next day i went and chilled out by the lagoon, needed the rays as i was still pasty as anything.

Next few days it rained again & was miserable. It's amazing how bad weather can put a damper on things.

Brisbane was a very nice city but to me it was nothing special. I am going back there though to visit my email pal Chad so hopefully he'll show me more of Brisbane or BrisVegas as they call it!!
