We are now in Toronto and staying with some friends of Viv and Ian's (Phil's parents). As you can tell from the photo's we have been to Niagara Falls. Had a great time there, I had been 12 years ago but it was great to go back and Phil was impressed with it. We did the famous Maid of the Mist boat trip, in fetching blue plastic coats (too hot to wear them really though!), was good fun but got a tad wet! Then we treated ourselves to a helicopter ride which was amazing. We flew down over the huge Niagara River and right over the Falls - brilliant views!
Niagara Falls night life was very lively. Last Friday we met up with Hazel (my mum's cousin) and her family for dinner at a Brazilian restaurant which was great! The waiters kept bringing bbq skewers of various meats to our table, from which they would carve you a slice, so we filled our boots! The best bit of the evening though (for Phil) were the scantily clad Brazilian dancers. They got us up to dance twice and Phil was loving it.
Toronto is nice and it's so hot, 30 degrees! We're staying in a really posh suburb in a lovely big house being well looked after! Have been into the city a couple of times and went up the CN tower. The tallest structure in the World! It is home to the famous glass floor so we took a walk out onto it! Quite scary at 345metres high looking straight down! But we both managed to have a lay down on it for photos! Have also visited the Toronto islands which are just in the harbour. It is actually one long island and it's a good place to escape to from city life. We hired bikes and had a good cycle round. Phil taught me how to ride using no hands! I did it for ages at one point and never fell off! ha ha.
Going out in the city tomorrow night with the son and daughter of the people we are staying with so looking forward to a good booze up Canadian style (but not too much Viv!). Then we leave Toronto on Thurs and head for Ottawa, the nation's capital.
Still having so much fun and it feels like we've been away for ages already! I will try to do some more photos at some point and scale them down again, Dad there were about 400 altogether for the first batch!
Love to you all
