It is day three and we start off by visiting the home stay before we make a stop at an agricultural project - it is a sort of model farm for farmeers in the area, and at the same time a place for poor or people who have fallen out of society due to ie drug problems, in the area to come and learn about agriculture and handy crafts. The people here are rewarded with wages for coming and their pruduce is sold at the markets. This project is actually supported by the queen of Thailand.
Off we go again - this time to Wangnamkeaw. It is in the beautiful central plaines of Thailand with the huge Khao Yai national park at the heart of it.Here GL offers stay at the centre which is situated on the top of a hill with magnificent views. The accommodation is again in an simple style but nice, all ensuite and one just feels very free and happy to be in the surroundings.Projects and activities offered here are both forestry in the national park which also includes building roads and paths and coservation work. There are optins for trekking and bicycling in the area and also a Buddhism/Culture Week.
We look for the famous gaurs from a viewpoint at dusk but we should not be so lucky it seemed - instead we got a hell of a ride in the car - hold on to your stuff!!
