From Donna and Clyde: We had an awesome day on Monday. Skye and our driver picked us up and we travelled to the Great Wall at Mutianyi. The driving in Beijing and beyond is something else. The car horn gets much more use than the indicators and following road rules is optional, it's surprising that there aren't more bruises on the cars.

We caught the chair lift up to the wall and then chose to walk up the steeper incline for the better view. Molly and Toby handled the walk fine, with a minimum number of complaints - probably due to the fact that they knew we were going to luge down again when we left the wall, which was a lot of fun.

After we left the wall, we drove back to Beijing and went to the Olympic complex to see the Bird's Nest and Water Cube etc, which was very impressive and then went to the 798 Art District where we had a lot of fun wandering the streets and looking at the amazing modern art. The district used to be an industrial area, but was shut down because of pollution and because of the cheap rents, artists moved in and the area developed into an art zone from there.

We then went to Da Dong for Peking Duck, which has won many awards for the best Peking Duck and best restaurant in Beijing. According to Toby, it was the second best meal he has ever had (he can't remember the first).

From Molly:

On Monday when we went to the Great wall of china where tobagganed down it, then we went to the food market next to our hotel and saw sheeps penis and fish balls soup which both almost made me vomit, but the worst part was the sheeps penis wasnt even cooked. After that for dinner we went to Da Dong which has the best peking duck and it was sooooooooooooooo good.

On Monday went to the GREAT WALL OF CHINA and we had FRIED ICE CREAM.
