Today we are on an 8 hour journey across to the Andaman Sea on the western side of Thailand. Taxi to ferry to bus to taxi. Our destination, Railay Beach. Railay is a small village on the coast with excellent beaches, cut off from the rest of Thailand by sheer limestone cliffs that drop right down onto some of those beaches These cliffs are chock full of rock climbers and featured in many climbing magazines and movies. Koh Phangan was great but this is the place I've been dreaming of going for 5 years.
It has not been difficult to figure out transportation. This place is like a mid- 20-something year olds summer camp. The bus we are on is full of westerners, but not too many Americans.
