Que es importante tu es y sueno. When I landed in Madrid, Olaf gave me directions of how to get to his place via the metro subway. After I had grabbed my bag and headed to the metro it said they were on strike and there was no service. Olaf was at work and could not answer his phone and he would not be off work for another 2-3 hours. So I had a decision to make… stay at the airport and wait for a call from Olaf or … wing it and try to find the place on my own with only knowing the address in a country where English is like a third or fourth language… what to do… go ahead and guess… come on guess…
I totally winged it!
I grabbed a map at the airport of the bus and metro stations and saw the metro location that I was to exit from and then compared it with the bus system and both maps are in Spanish and rather confusing. Anyways I jumped on the number nine bus with both fingers crossed and landed in the right place just as he called. Boooooyah! The hardest part was knowing when to exit I did need the help of the bus driver on that one. He didn't speak a lick of English, but I was able to get the message across in the best Spanish I knew and there ya go.
So that's been my last 24hrs and those turd sandwiches at the metro are still on strike and I am very limited to where I can go, but that's ok Spain is filled with muy wapa senioritis.
