My last day in Munchen and last day in Germany went out with a bang. My rockin host Alex, made from scratch a traditional spaetzle dish…man was it good. (no worries I watched how to make it) I really liked my visit to Germany. The people/hosts I had were some of the best, really fun people and off course the star Grandma Hilde. Germany by far has the nicest train system throughout Europe, very clean and efficient. I really enjoyed moving this way especially when I got to Bavaria and bordered the mountains, just amazing scenery through the window. I loved the food from doner's in berlin to Swienhaxen in Bavaria, mmm good.
I am now on the train to Milan and will be here till the 30th then to Tirino for a couple of days after that I will try and check out venice. I cant wait to eat the food here. I continue to hear that Italians eat well and the food is really good. I also am excited to see the major cites of Italy, Vatican city, rome, and the canals of venice.

Mom Glad to know that you got to the other side of Oktoberfest in one piece. Local Oktoberfest's are just starting here and nothing like what you experienced. Do you still plan to pick olives or grapes in Italy? Remember to blog about everything you learn about wine and olive oil. There is a new shop in Stillwater, Stillwater Olive Oil Co, where you can taste different flavored olive oil and balsamic vinegars. It's a wonderful place. Fall is certainly working it's way to Minnesota. Cold, rain, wind and overcast sky's have been here all week. It always seems too soon. You look like you're having a great time and you know I love the pictures of you. I love you. Stay safe. Mom
