Arrived in Vietiene the capital of Laos last night.
Big difference in hotel as we are now in a 5 star compared to the wooden huts in the Luang Prebang.
Luang Prebang was a small town by the river with excellent views of the sunset over the mountains. We visited an organic farm which had been set up by one man, Mr T. Who was a real character and doing a lot to improve the area and create jobs for the farmers. That evening we had lunch in his restaurant which was the best so far. I can also recommend his smoothies with Lou Lou(local whiskey) and zinger ( think it was meant to be ginger).
The town itself has been spooky a bit as it's now full of bars and loud music but the setting was still great.
Spent this morning visiting the signs of Vietiene including their own "Victory Monument" a bit like the Arc de (pictured) which we climbed to the top.
Lots more temples visited so many that I've lost count.
Had a nice lunch in a French bakery before hitting the local market (nothing with buying). Dinner tonight then Cambodia tomorrow.
