Have had a great time over the last feeders although Internet access has been limited (or expensive).
Spent 2 days in Phnom Pnem which was a deeply moving experience. We visited the detention centre where Pol Pot tortured "intellectuals" such as teachers followed by a visit to the killing fields to see where most of them ended up. Our guides grandfather had been killed by Pol Pots army and his father by American bombing. Really shocking to see all the sculls piled up and to be walking over ground where pieces of the victims clothing and some bones were still sticking out from the ground.
Phonm Phen is a fascinating city and away from the sad side of Pol Pots regime we visited some excellent sites and then Had lunch in the Foreign Correspondants Club where the foreign press used to meet up after reporting on the war.
After lunch Sylvie and I walked back along the river and crossed 3 roads - a major achievement in a city where ther are no rules of the road.
Spent the last 2days in Siemens Reap visiting runins of temples. Visitied the biggie Ankor Wat today which was impressive but did not take our breath away like the Taj Mahal - still fantastic though.
Tomorrow is our last day. We have one temple to visit then start our link trek home. Not sure if I will get a chnce for another uptate till Bangkok.
