Had a big day walking...first to the 1896 Olympic Arena, then through the National Garden which also contains the Exhibition Building. After that we visited several historic sites and saw lots of ruins. We saw the Roman Agora and Hadrian's Library before stopping for a very enjoyable lunch at Cafe Miandros in Monastriaki.

After that we looked through the Ancient Agora, which is a large area of ruins of what was a centre of social life in ancient times. It also contains the Temple of Hephaestus which is very well preserved and is one of my favourite historical sites in Athens.

The afternoon saw us shopping in Plaka for a few souvenirs as sadly, this is our last day in Athens, although we will return 3 times briefly within the next few weeks.
