Dia um.
What a long two days of traveling! I am finally safe and sound sitting on my bed at my homestay with Paula Santos. After almost two full days of layovers and traveling, I am completely exhausted. At the airport in Lisbon, I saw the most precious thing; a portuguese mother and her little boy were taking pictures together and the mother would start tickling the little boy and he would laugh so hard and wiggle around and by the time the picture took they were both cracking up and I`m sure it made for an amazing picture. I just loved seeing them interact and it was so obvious how the both adored one another. After a seven hour layover in Lisbon, I finally boarded the TAP flight and landed in Faro safely arriving to Rita & Mr. and Mrs. Parfait. Rita is the program coordinator and an amazingly warm, spunky and funny woman. The Parfaits are friends of my dad`s thqat happen to live 15-20 minutes away from Faro. They wanted to make sure I got in okay and made me feel very welcome, it was so sweet for them to drive to see me for only about ten minutes. When I arrived at my homestay, Paula greeted me sweetly and showed me where everything is and then rushed out to go to church and a concert with her friends. Once I got settled, I walked around her apartments and tried to find places to go, although it`s Sunday so not much was open. I came back home, put my head down and slept like a baby for a good five hours before I went to bed again two hours later for the night. It was not the typical first day I thought it would`ve been but I can not wait to wake up and go to the school and see more of Faro and meet people!
Boa Noite! (goodnight)
P.S..- drivers are NUTS here! I`m happy I am walking everywhere. :)
