We wake up in Sketchy Days hostel, got all ready and we prepared to lock our backpacks in some cubby holes. The place is said to supply locks and this should not shock you, but they "ran out". Cool, but apparently, the shop down the street has them. Half an hour and 4 stores later, Louise and I return lockless. It was an adventure just to describe a lock. So we decide to head out to the Vatican with all our stuff and check it there. We were planning to meet up with Erika, Erika, Emmitt, Carson, and Fish. Erika W. and I had already been inside the Vatican so we didn't go. Erika and I head to their hotel for me to throw my backpack down. We get gelato so we walk and talk. Eventually we sit down by the river! Soon enough Carson, Emmitt, and Erika meet up with us! It's the first time I had seen them in awhile so I was happy! A bit later Kels, Louise, Lyn, and Fish come out so they drop all their stuff off at the hotel. A few of us got some food and then we all took the metro to the Colosseum and it was still awesome this time around. We went in and kinda walked around at our own space. It still gets me! Took a sweet video and just had a good time! We sat outside of it for awhile and hung out. Then we all went to dinner and I think I could die laughing when I'm with them. After that we walked to the Trevi Fountain and threw a penny in. The first one I threw in last Jan term came true with my safe trip back to city. So let's hope this one, which gives luck in love, does the same. Carson ended up giving in and buying a laser pointer from one of the 8000 guys that sell them. After being there for a bit, we paid the Spanish Steps a visit. There were a bit of people there but not too many. We ended up leaving soon after we got there because it was getting late. We took the metro back to the other group's hotel to get our belongings.
Carson and Emmitt say they'll walk us back and they also want to check this place out. We ring the sweet buzzer to get in and after 6 flights of stairs we were on our floor. The worker seemed confused as to why we didn't take the elevator. Well buddy, probably because it looks like something from 1862. We walk in, no questions asked about the boys being with us. So we open the unlockable door and my first words are "Umm, guys, where's my mattress?" because well, my mattress is missing. After looking around, we see Louise's towel is missing. After a tiny debate, Lyn and I go to the front desk to discuss our problems. As we are walking out there, two guys are on the couch, one is clearly over 40 and the other guy says "he's lonely tonight". At that point I decided we were leaving. Lynette starts talking about the mattress. He seems rather confused and almost making it seem like it was my fault. He asks how many of us were in the room and then asks about the boys and I tell him they're just visiting. I walk back to the room and say "we're out of here, we're gone. Dude walks in and looks around and realizes it is gone. He comes back with this pee stained mattress. He then asks where the sheets are….seriously? How would I know? He brings some and Lynette starts the conversation with asking what the refund policy is. The guy mumbles something about 48 hours in advance and we won't get anything back. If we have any questions we should email at (unintelligent words)@gmail.com. Right. No one knew what he said. He said something like you see all your sheets have been cleaned and I respond with "Okay, but my mattress was taken." He gives me this look like I'm stupid and says "You're mad because your mattress was taken?" I start to argue my point is that someone can walk into a room that wasn't theirs and walk out with a mattress. Lynette continues talking about a refund but he's not budging. He leaves and we have all decided to get out of there. We all just walk out. We then begin the hunt for a hotel. Carson and Emmitt seriously saved our sanity and lives. The 5th attempt for a hotel works as we found one that wasn't asking an arm and a leg. Carson and Emmitt head back and all was right in the world. Carson texted me later to make sure everything was okay. We finally hit the sheets around 3. My feet were killing me but at least we were alive.
