Hi all,

So we're in Oz and loving it, have been here for a week now and started of in Darwin.

On our first night in Darwin we went to a pub called the Fox 'n Fiddle, where we ended up being the only ones in the bar and got free drinks from the barman and sole control of the music - awesome! We were home by about 11.30 a little worse for wear :)

Days were spent relaxing by the pool at our hostel working on our tan... Next night we went to the cinema and saw rather aptly 'Australia' which is actually all set in Darwin so was really great to see it there.

Next night had some Thai food as we were majorly getting withdrawals! and tried to find a bar with more than 10 people in (it's low season in Darwin so a bit quiet).

We did have one day away from the pool when we went to Litchfield Park and saw some crocodiles, held a snake and swam in a few waterfalls - some awesome pics.

Now we're in Cairns, which is lovely, a lot busier than Darwin as it's where most backpackers start their East Coast journey. We're staying at Gillligans hostel (recommended by Kate - thanks!) and it's really cool except we're sharing a dorm with 4 guys, 2 absolute idiots from Essex who have thankfully gone now and 2 nice Dutch guys.

Lara and Nikki are arriving tomorrow and will be staying with us here for a couple of days and we become a four for a month! Had a cool night out at our hostel last night which actually has a nightclub in it, and we get a free meal every evening so it's perfect!

Today we've been looking into stuff for the next two weeks - campervans, trips to the Great Barrier Reef, skydiving, the islands etc... and will get moving from Monday making our long and quite quick journey South!
