Today we set off for the tip of the Dampier Peninsula, visiting Cape Leveque, Cygnet Bay and One Arm Point. The road up is quite rough, but its sandy rather than rocky so it is a 'fun' road to travel on with lots of whoops and dips that can catch you unawares if you're not concentrating. Today we relaxed while the car aircon was being fixed. When we got it back we drove up the beach and watched the beautiful sunset with drinks and nibbles.

The drive across to Broome today was an absolute stinker without airconditioning, it was mid 40 degrees with a very hot wind, very unpleasant! As we arrived in the outskirts of Broome it cooled down dramatically to about 30 degrees with a nice cool afternoon breeze which was a great relief! We arrived at Fitzroy Crossing in the early afternoon. We stayed at the Fitzroy Crossing Lodge Caravan Park which was beautiful! Very clean, shady and grassy sites, beautiful pool to cool off in, very nice! We met up with Matt, Ellen and 4yo Luke who we first met at Lake Argyle. Today we woke up to very mild weather, the coolest we have experienced for weeks now, very nice! We left Kununurra this morning and clocked over our 10,000km mark for the trip at the intersection to Halls Creek. We arrived at the Bungle Bungle National Park turn off around midday.
