The drive across to Broome today was an absolute stinker without airconditioning, it was mid 40 degrees with a very hot wind, very unpleasant! As we arrived in the outskirts of Broome it cooled down dramatically to about 30 degrees with a nice cool afternoon breeze which was a great relief! Apart from the aircond issue the car and caravan are great! Car is booked in on Thursday to have the aircond fixed. We plan to be in the Broome area for about a month, we are looking forward to seeing Chris and Jordie early in November, we may even try and find some work here to replenish our bank account. It is considerably cooler here which is really nice!
Yesterday we went to visit Roebuck Bay. Very beautiful there and they have a kids playground that includes a small water park, so Lochie was in his element! They have a lovely little cafe overlooking the bay so we enjoyed a cold milkshake there! We also caught up with fellow travellers Mark and Jackie and their children from Tassie. They're travelling in an old green HT Holden Station Wagon and we first met them at Bitter Springs near Mataranka in the Northern Territory. After morning tea we drove to Gantheume Point and onto the beach, the water was quite rough here compared to Roebuck Bay.
The weather really is beautiful here, generally a cool breeze all day! I rode my push bike about 6km this morning after dropping off the Zuki at the aircon people and then rode it the 6km back again to pick up the Zuki and I barely broke out into a sweat! Anyway the air conditioning is all fixed, yay!!
