The drive across to Broome today was an absolute stinker without airconditioning, it was mid 40 degrees with a very hot wind, very unpleasant! As we arrived in the outskirts of Broome it cooled down dramatically to about 30 degrees with a nice cool afternoon breeze which was a great relief! We arrived at Fitzroy Crossing in the early afternoon. We stayed at the Fitzroy Crossing Lodge Caravan Park which was beautiful! Very clean, shady and grassy sites, beautiful pool to cool off in, very nice! We met up with Matt, Ellen and 4yo Luke who we first met at Lake Argyle. This morning we set off for El Questro Station. We travelled north for approximately 50km on the Victoria Highway before turning left and heading west on the Gibb River Road. We left Darwin on Thursday the 4/10/12 and headed south to Katherine. After a quick fuel stop we headed west towards the WA border and stopped at a rest stop on the side of the highway for the night. On the way we had over-taken two Spanish cyclists on their way to the Canning Stock Route. They also stopped at this rest stop for the night.
