Well today was a massive challenge for us! We had some money issues (lack of), we were unable to access our funds over the weekend, we nearly had an empty tank of fuel in the car, our gas ran out last night, and we needed to move on. We scraped together $10.90 in coins to fuel up the Zuki and headed to Nowra. As we were coming into Nowra the Zuki had a cough and a splutter, not a good sign, we couldn't travel any further, we had to find somewhere to park our van here in Nowra. We phoned our ever faithful eldest son who gave us his credit card details, woo hoo party time, sorry, I mean now we can fuel up. Wrong!!! The fuel stations wouldn't accept card details without the card. We phoned a caravan park and booked and paid over the phone, all good or so we thought. We coughed and spluttered in, well the Zuki did, not us, and we set up camp. I was just settling in with a cuppa in hand and the park managers came over questioning us that we have three people on the site, that'll be another $12 thankyou! I told them we had not been charged for Lochie on the whole trip because he is only 3! They claimed they charged the extra $12 for children from 12 months of age!! $12 doesn't sound like much but on top of what they already charged was totally unjustifiable! I asked them what he would be using that would justify the $12, there was no play equipment or anything for children, there wasn't even soap in the amenities! Anyway, they obviously didn't want children in the their caravan park. They were rude and it got ugly, we received a refund back onto Chris' card and we packed everything up! Fun, NOT! That still left us with no money and no fuel! Kellie suggested draining the few litres out of the generator, which after pulling it apart we were able to do and got going again!
So here we are at Shoalhaven Caravan Park, and they don't charge for 3yo children, we're waiting till Monday so that we can arrange access to our money. Still with a near empty tank of fuel in the car and no gas, but we're on a powered site so all is good thanks to Chris!
It been a very stressful day, worst day we have had in the 6 months travel, but its all good as they say!
