Today was another big day on the train, by thankfully our last day of train travel.. yippee! We had just one changeover in Montepellier again. The first part of the trip took about 5hours and it was on the old 50's Spanish train again.. yucky!Once we changed over trains to the French one it took only 3hours to go more the twice the difference of the first part of the trip! We were on a TGV train which goes about 300km an hour! We arrived in Paris at about 630pm and caught a taxi to our hotel. Our hotel was really nice, it was old but had had a really big facelift not too long ago, our room was super tiny to the point where we couldn't lay out our suitcases anywhere except for on our beds but it was a nice clean room. Our room overlooked the street on the 3rd level and we could see the peak of the Eiffel tower over the buildings which was cool.First item on the agenda was of course the Eiffel tower, so we headed there straight away, it was about a 5min walk from our hotel. We weren't quite ready for the cold of Paris after the comfortable weather in Barcelona but it was freezing here! After doing a walk around the tower and taking lots of photos of course we were on the lookout for dinner. The difference with France and Italy is that Italy is really accommodating for English signs and menus etc whereas its much further and fewer between finding English menus in restaurants so after about the first 4-5 restaurants we looked at that we couldn't read we found an Italian restaurant.. and after about a week or so without all that Italian food I was starting to have withdrawals so we went on in! We had a great dinner, and actually had to admit it was some of the best Italian food we'd had on our whole trip and was definitely the best service we'd had!
