Well our time in Philippines grows short we leave tomorrow, but not before we got some great diving in here in Dumaguete. The first day we dove was not really that fun the water was ripping at the entry point on dive one and the current was giving the fish a hard time down on the reef.So we were like rag dolls being blown across the reef at high speed. The second dive was alot calmer as we found a cove to shelter us and now I was having trouple clearing my ears so the third dive of the day I sat out to save what was left of my ears for Apo island the next day.
We are stay at Mike's Dive Resort so there is not much else to do as we are out in the sticks. They have a great bar that serves ice cold San Miguel light a local Philippine beer in frosty cold glasses. The resturant here does a pretty mean menu with Mexican,American and Philippine fare. We did not stay up late as the diving had wore us out.Waking late on dive day two we ate some breakfast at the resort and headed to Apo island. Our first dive was a nice calm cove with many fishes and coral like we have never seen before, it's no wonder people come from the world over to dive here as the reef is pristine.
Drift diving the next we slipped beneath the waves without Joy as she had chosen to save her ears as they were ringing like mine.I have never had problem equalizing so I don't know what the problem was. This dive went fanstastic as all we did was hang midwater and the current pushed us at a leasurely pace instead of the mach one from the day before.Dive three had me praying that my ears would hold and they did and we had a third 45 minute dive of the day.Heading back to the resort was another problem as the one hour cruise from the morning had turned into a two hour wave fight back being bashed up and down waves crashing over the bow of our tiny speeder.
So that takes us to the moment right now, sitting at the bar San Miguel light in hand listening to the waves crash the beach.Tomorrow back to the airport for a 36 hour trip to Bangkok Thailand.Till then take it easy don't hurt your back lifting snow.
