Day four of our Philipipine tour, we have pretty much done all the touristy things here on Bohol including the chocolate mountains which is a series of mounds that were pushed up during Bohols early years a coral mounds collected dirt.We took a obligatory river cruise that included a buffet style lunch loads of pushing for some very weak food.
Climbing back into the only touring car without a/c we trekked to a Tarsier rest area, when we were reading about the Tarsier's we thought they were hold up in some big forest and we could see them with the help of a guide with well trained eyes.Well instead they are in these road side huts where you get a free look and a bunch of women trying to sell you tiny key chain Tarsiers.Well they were cute little monkeys alot smaller then I thought.Snapping a couple of shots we were off again this time getting held up in a parade where for only the first time our texting/cell phone talking driver slowed when a man with a M-16 said to stop.
Bounding down the road again at break neck speed we came across the Butterfly forest preserve and for 50 cents we got to see maybe six butterflys but learned alot more about Tarsiers then we did at the rest stop.Off again we stopped at a couple of 400 year old coral churches and then the Snake Sanctuary where we paid 50 cents to see one big snake and a Madonna Impersonator (a Guy).Snapping a couple pictures we piled back into the oven on wheels for our ride to the swinging bridge, 20 cents lighter we can say we crossed it and scared Joy half to death.Back on the road we got back to our hotel jumped out of the oven car and watched as our bathing suits in the back of the tour car rambled back down the highway as we forgot them.
Well lets try the boat tour so after we found our sleeping boat captain in his boat we were the last to arrive to see the dolphins jumping out of the water but then we saw them only a week ago on Aranui. We putt putted on our boat with a lawn mower engine over to some great snorkling.Seeing many more fish then we have saw so far made us yearn for some scuba diving which we will be doing in two days time.We set sail after some really funky eggs over to Virgin island were we took a turn around the island and then heading back home our new bathing suits drying in the sun.Well I will end here as my battery grows low and the sun too.Hope is all well back in Elkton or where ever you may be.
