Regal Empress! I love the Regal Empress and she is retiring or in ship terms being cut up into little bits next month.I want to get one last look before that happened. So we took her up on a two night cruise to Bahamas. ANd she was full. Regal Empress has been in service pretty much nonstop since 1953 but with the up coming Solas 2010 regs she will not sail ever again.Joy and I sailed her twice before, once in a steerage class upper lower and once in a Lanai suite. This time I splurged for a Admiral suite which is a 1953 original two room suite. Our room was like a Captains room an a tall sailing ship.Exposed beams and lots of wood. We are not really fans of the Bahamas.Lots of shopping and it's usally not so hot. But the night life onboard was worth it as we stayed up til 1:30 am both nights singing karokee with an Amish couple from Lancaster who werfe on their honeymoon, who knew? The food is first class on Regal but people get on board thinking they are on a Carnival ship which she is not. After our two night sail we found our selves back in Florida and heading back north with one lone horse and a bad case of sunburn. It's a long haul from here til next years vacation, but we already have enought points for round the world again thanks to last summers high diesel prices. So with any luck Kathy will be joining us again as we see how many flights we can get on before we get home.I am voting on a SOuth Pacific itinerary and maybe mix in a quick trip to Harbin Ice Festival.Lets get Colonial out of the way. Thanks for watching Kathy your name will be return shortly. To good night Keith and Joy
