Well another year has passed and here we are ready for vacation. With all of the horses moved to warmer climates it's our turn. Being a pay year, which is a year when we don't have enough points to fly for free we have put together a abreviated schedule. I have always wanted to do a Trans Atlantic Crossing on a ship but they never leave at the right time of year to fit our time frame. So when Carnival Cruise Lines decided to do a refit to Carnival Destiny in March in Italy they would need to move her in Febuary. Hence we found a Trans Atlantic Cruise. Joy is not onboard quite yet as Atlantic crossings can and probibly will be rough. Nine days at sea can strain will strain my ability to sit still that long but with a large Facebook Clan buliding for our cruise it should be a breeze.
This year I have a brand new computer and as soon as I get it figured out and get the spell checker working maybe my blogs will be easier to read. Joy and I are welcoming a new delivery in 2013! "Trixie" as we call her will be entering the fleet as soon as we return. Trixie is a 19,000 lb smooth riding and shifting Freightliner and if anyody thought she was anything else you don't know us well. By the numbers Joy clocked in at about 65,000 miles this year and me at a cool 125,000. My highlight of the year was The Preakness with "Went the Day Well" Cooling him out with "Bodemeister" behind us. D. Wayne Lukas (Will someone introduce me to him already!) at one end of the barn and Dale Romans at the other end. Joy claims her highlight to be The Breeders Cup with "Next Question" and the connections of Mike Trombetta and Kirk Wycoff.
There were so many other horses and people that made the year 2012 great I could never list them all here. Anyway it is tour time 2013 and we will do a warm up next week to Maui and maybe see an active volcano and for sure eat at my favorite restaurant "Cheeseburger in Paridise" Lahina. Then we'll head back home to tighten up the ship before heading south to Miami to catch Destiny for the Trans Atlantic to Spain and Italy. Once we jump off the ship we will hit the rails to Brussels Belgium, Paris France, Amsterdam Netherlands, and we fly home through Reykjavik Iceland. So I'll keep practicing with my new computer and see how it goes.
