Well it's been a sad year for my blog site. First off the new computer must have gotten a virus and now has died a sudden death. Needless to say my on going blogs were sunk. I'll try and pick up where I left which I believe was Barcelona Spain. Another two days at sea and we were finally on the shores of florence Italy. Having eaten for the past two days straight a little walking sure would be a good ideal.
We've been to Florence before so we chose to just hoof it around getting lost at every turn. Kind of what you do in Italy. The place looked familiar yet we had no ideal where we were at any given time except when we passed a Resturant that we ate at last time, figures statue of David in town and we can only remember we're we ate ten years ago. Well since it was Monday the museums were closed anyway so we abled around until our feet were tired stopping at the boar to rub his nose, was it for good luck or to return? Back on Destiny we sailed overnight to Rome.
Dropped off by the train right at St Peters square the place was jumping with all the whoop la going on with the Pope resigning and all of the Cardinal's arriving. Joy did her best to break the bank with a hand bag purchase please be sure to ask to see it when it arrives stateside in a couple of weeks. Of course what would it be without a pizza in Rome? We sat at a street side cafe drinking and munching with our new friend Erin. Time grew short we waved goodbye to Pope Benedict XVI and headed back out to sea.
Rounding the toe of Italy thought the Straits of Messina we had a great view of Italy and them of us. Final two days and we were sadly leaving Destiny and all of our friends arriving in Venice to a cold rainy morning. Venice is a maze of streets that look more like a movie set then a city. Everybody should visit Venice, just bring money as it's not cheap. The beer stinks as its a Wine kind of town, I'll save beer drinking for Brussels in a couple of days. Finally we boarded a train for Paris last night arriving early this morning not very refreshed but maybe a little under the weather. We got out and ate some Greek food because they had the smallest line! Tonight it's fondue for sure.
as I end this report I must apologize as traveling by cruise ship and staying in good hotels does not lead to follies like last year in Tonga. It has been days since most of these things have happened so they grow weaker in my memory. Having a computer to put them down every night was nice and I guess my mistake was not uploading sooner. I have loaded several videos and pictures so be sure to check them out. Thanks for following and we will surely have something go wrong sooner or later. Right now we pray. For a laundry fairy.
