Hi its now 10.54 pm and ive just got in from an evening at the night market here in Chang Mai and thought if i dont post my blog now then it'll be a mile long next time i get chance to get near a computer!!! Well since my last blog ive met my group ill be travelling with and there all really nice. There are 2 Irish girls, 2 English lads, 1 Scotish girl, 1 English girl (not including me), 1 Canadan and 4 Americans.we have only met up with the americans today in chang mai, but the rest of us when out to dinner on the 19th which was good and on the 20th (yesterday) we went to the floating market just outside bangkok, we ( Joe, Rob, Karen, Lynn, sue, sonya and me) got picked up from the hotel at 7.00am!!! it was really good we took a van there then we had to get a speed boat to the market and then into a little boat being pushed along by a little tai woman! we got back about 1.00pm and decided to go to the grand palace, soyna, sue and i took a tuc tuc, well there an experience!! the road system out here is none exsistante!!! they just drive anywhere and everywhere!!! if your trying to cross the road your life hangs in the balance!!! you stop in the middle of the road for the traffic to more round you (motor bikes and tuc tucs!) its pretty scary! in the end we didnt make it into the grand palace as we didnt have anough clothes on! you have to have your sholders and arms and legs covered, but we didnt so we didnt get in! oh well we'll go on are way back through in a few days. we did manage to see the big budder which was good.
After we left Bangkok we got a 13 hour overnight train to Chang mai which is where i am currently, that was an experience good fun but didnt get to much sleep as the guy in the compartment next door was snooring!!! today we went to a cookery class in tai food it was really good fun and now i could even cook any of you a tai dish!! we when wondered round the town for a few hours, its very hot even worse than Bangkok so i mite be able to catch some rays!! we then headed off to the night market which was nice, but once you've seen one market you've seen them all!! but we did get chance for a drink in an irish pub which as good. im now off to pack for my three day trecking into the hills of Chang Mai which im looking forward to, but will be hard work! well i best go, ill post some pics as aoon as i can.
take care
Ke xx
