Day 8 Taupo to river valley
Was back on the kiwi bus with a new driver called Mangee.
We stopped off at a volcanic park and saw mount doom, another place where parts of the lord of the rings was filmed.
The scenery around New Zealand is just incredible no wonder people don't want to leave it's just so perfect here.
We made our way to River Valley and had to walk down a very steep hill, not looking forward to climbing back up that hill in the morning, but the views at this place were just amazing, located in mountains.
We stayed in a lodge that had a huge fire place and the staff were friendly. The barman Spence ended up giving free drinks to quite a few of us, so that was a bonus.
The room was one huge room, filled with mattresses so a little close to the person next to you but I was lucky to have room to myself.
Early the next day a few people went rafting but I stayed at the lodge and then had to climb that high hill back up, hate hills.
Then I got locked under the bus on purpose as my driver thought it would be funny to lock me under and there was no way of unlocking it from underneath.
But I eventually got left out and everyone just laughing, including me as it was pretty funny.
Also found out that Mangee's real name was Gregory but he got the name Mangee, from going out in a G string when he first started to work for Kiwi, so the name stuck.
