Katy's World Tour
Hey everyone, I survived the 2800 feet, 1 uphill, steap mountain hike, wahooo!!! After my manager telling me that the Grouse Grind was the hardest thing she has ever done, I was crazy to want to do it myself, but as all my housemates wanted to go I decided to go with them and give it a go!! She was right it was the hardest thing I think I have ever done!! We had to hike up a mountain, never seen so many uneven steps, rocks and trees in all my life! After about 10 minutes both Jen and I thought about turning back as already we felt like our hearts were going to pop out, I couldn't breathe. However we carried on and got to the ¼ mark after about 30 minutes with lots of rest breaks. Jen decided to quit and go back down, which was probably harder than carrying on, but we still had ¾ of way to go!! Don't blame her, it was sooo hard. I decided to carry on, so after a chocolate energy burst I hiked on up and caught up with the boys, whom in which were every surprised to see I was still going!! I was dieing!
Next came the ½ way stage, couldn't believe I still had to do all that again, but once you got past the mental block it actually turned out to be quite fun! After this stage it actually got a lot harder, not so many steps but more rough rocks and stone in which you had to climb up. It was so difficult. Finally got to the top after an hour and half, and I wasn't the last, I beat Mandoo, wahooo, Im hard core!! It was the hardest thing ever, the best work out ever and the most rewarding ever. I was so proud of myself!
When we reach the top, Jen was there; she got the tram up and met us there. We had a well deserved drink and walked around a little more (I thought my legs were going to fall off) and visited the bears and viewed the amazing views, it was breath taking. Stayed a while and then got the tram down, no way was I walking down!! However Im so glad I done it, and felt a huge sense of achievement!! And my legs don't hurt today, maybe they will tomorrow, hope not as I have work!! It was great fun.
