Day 5
Last night spent with our lovely friends at the Khar Gymkhana, superb. I hope I never forget these experiences. Leaving Mumbai shortly for 17 hour train journey to Jodhpur. I will be sad to leave, what an amazing place. Love it. Will be back. However - some tips for the government. Round up all the dogs and put them down (sorry - I love dogs). But not 5 miillion of them, all stray, appearing to have no purpose or joy, spreading disease and s***ting all over the street. And it actually looks like the SAME dog everywhere - tan, scrawny and eating dirty clothes and empty Sprite bottles. Secondly, maybe build some pavements? And lastly, chuck in some traffic lights. Just an idea. As Clover wisely noted, "It's like the whole of India is playing a giant game of chicken".
Other than that, I have no idea where to begin with the social problems. I have a friend that could sort out this country in a year. If someone offered Purni an unlimited budget, giant personal expense account and a couple of Eastern European male assistants, she could have this place whipped into shape in no time. She would know what to do.
On a good note I have sorted out the frizz in my hair. Leave-in conditioner, tied up.
