So, i arrived in fiji on the 22nd to greet Miss Gillard at Bamboo hostel which was very exciting! We chilled out there ready for our island hopping tour to start the next day! The mainland is a pretty dull part of Fiji but a very good place to chill and Bamboo hostel was cheap, had free wifi and had lovely staff so we really enjoyed it there!!
First Island on our stop was South Sea Island. We headed to the Yasawa Flyer which was the big yellow boat that everyone constantly got on and off to travel around all the different islands nice and early in the morning and 30 minutes later arrived at South Sea. This was one of the smallest islands you could go to with it only taking 3/4 mintues to walk round the whole island!! It was so nice, we felt like we were on a proper desert island and in the evening there were only 10 people staying on the island plus a few staff so we reallycould have been on shipwreck!! We went snorkling on the first day which is where Abi broke her camera (shock!! lol) but we saw amazing fish, the water was so clear and the guide was showing us where all the cool fish were and pciked up this bright blue starfish for us to hold! They also had little seathrough bugs that gave you little pin p**** when you were swimming which was really weird!! That night we all got chatting (was a really good mix of people) and found out that 5 out of the 10 people on a tiny island in fiji and gone/were actually at Loughborough Uni!! Proper mental!! One of the girls also new Katie Green which was even stranger!! We had crab races that evening (basically they went and collected loads of crabs with shells and you picked your crab and wrote a number on the shell, they then were put in the centre of a circle and the first one to escape was the winner!!) My turned out to be a bit lazy in the end but it was good fun!! We stayed at South Sea for two night and the food was really nice there, the views and activities were awesome and free and the only downside was becuase it was so close to the mainland they had lots of daytrippers come and as it was easter weekend it meant lots of screaming kids which was very annoying!! aha
